About the memorial
A living memorial in the heart of the Castro
Formally dedicated on December 10, 2001 — the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights — the Pink Triangle Memorial stands at the intersection of Castro, Market, and 17th Streets.
A large pink triangle of rose quartz stones sits among rose bushes. Visitors are invited to take a single stone as a remembrance and to spread a message of hope & peace.
